Grades 9-12: Firefighter I

Firefighter 1 is the first level of Firefighter training that provides entry-level skills in preparation as a Firefighter, emergency responder or volunteer. This level introduces the basics of nationally recognized fire fighting techniques. Methods of instruction will include a combination of classroom theory and skill oriented “hands-on” participation. Student performance will be evaluated throughout the course including both written and practical assessments. This course is for general knowledge and personal interest. To seek full certification, some weekend and evening hours and testing must be completed at the Atlantic County Fire Training Center.
