GEHRHSD Curriculum Guide 2026-27

The Advanced Placement Calculus curriculum to be covered is similar to a college-level, first semester Calculus course and some schools may accept successful completion of this course (as demonstrated by a score of 3 or higher on the AP Calculus AB exam) for credit and/or placement. Areas of discussion will include: limits, integration, volume and area applications, related rates, optimization problems and transcendental functions AP CALCULUS AB Prerequisite: Teacher recommendation and/or an 80 or above in Honors Pre-Calculus Grades 10-12, 5 Credits Grades 11-12, 5 Credits Calculus is designed for students who successfully completed Pre-Calculus and who are preparing to enter college. The purpose of this course will be an overview of Pre-Calculus, the study of limits, differentiation, and integration. The course will also give students a clear connection between the graphic and algebraic representations of equations and functions and to monitor the behavior of these functions. Prerequisite: Honors Pre-Calculus or Pre-Calculus Grades 9-12, 5 Credits Honors Algebra II/Trigonometry is designed for students who have successfully completed Honors Geometry or for outstanding Algebra I students. The course moves at a faster pace and is more rigorous, allowing for deeper exploration of concepts through research, challenging problem solving, and project-based learning. Students will investigate advanced functions, equations and inequalities, probability and statistics, logarithmic and exponential relationships, quadratic and polynomial equations, advanced trigonometric functions, and matrices. HONORS ALGEBRA II/TRIGONOMETRY Prerequisite: Teacher recommendation and/or an 90 in Geometry CALCULUS
