WORK BASED LEARNING THROUGH IDEAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

Ideal Institute of Technology is a resource within our own Atlantic County that is focused on providing advanced career exploration and work based learning opportunities for young people. Students can gain employable skills that will provide meaningful workforce experiences and in some cases industry valued credentials which links students to in demand technical careers leading to a self-sufficient and self supporting lifestyle. Below is a sample of career options for students to attend on a half day schedule (other requirements must be satisfied to achieve eligibility): Advanced Manufacturing Students are immersed in a variety of industry sectors designed to prepare for careers in advanced manufacturing. This is a hands-on experience where students will have the opportunity to explore the fundamentals of materials, design, and safety, as well as develop leadership skills for work in the field. Students work with a Bridgeport mill, metal lathe, surface grinder, drill press and numerous other pieces of equipment that are utilized in the manufacturing industry. Construction Trade Become knowledgeable in fundamental principles and methods of construction. Develop technical skills related to carpentry, electrical, plumbing, masonry and finish work. Instruction includes safety principles and practices, recognition of standard lumber sizes; foundation layout methods; building concepts and procedures; local, state and national codes; cost estimating and blueprint reading. The core curriculum of this program focuses on Business, Networking and Web Design. Students should expect a significant amount of individual and team-based hands-on projects. Students successfully completing the course will be ready to pursue an associate’s or bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or Digital Design. Digital Media
