MUSIC TECHNOLOGY

Music Composition is for the student who is interested in songwriting and music production. This course is designed to allow the student to develop his/her keyboard skills, knowledge of music theory and composition. The course will also introduce students to music technology and its application. Software will allow students to record, notate and create musical arrangements and develop skills in both ear training and music theory. Students who would like to pursue a career in songwriting, engineering and production should consider this course. This course can be repeated for credit. Prerequisite: This course is for students who have a background in musical study and/or play a musical instrument. Students will be required to interview with the instructor.

MUSICAL THEATRE SINGING Grades 9-12, 5 Credits AHS OHS

This course is for students who are interested in learning about solo singing musical theatre repertoire. This course will include vocal technique, masterclasses, audition preparation, acting techniques, character study, and other necessary topics that relate to singing on stage. No audition or prerequisite required. If you want to learn more about singing solo on stage, this is the class for you!

PIANO LAB Grades 9-12, 5 Credits

This course is designed for the student who wishes to participate in a fundamental piano course in the Greater Egg Harbor Regional High School District. Piano Lab is an elective. The emphasis is to develop knowledge of music fundamentals and piano skills. Students will learn the basics of keyboard playing techniques. The students will be exposed to a variety of musical styles. The students will learn how to read music. This course also provides aesthetic experience in: Creating and performing Critical/analytical/judgment/valuing Aesthetic/personal philosophy Historical/cultural/social concepts
